Easiest way to get a passport- nevermind
« on: September 16, 2011, 04:18 pm »
What is the easiest way to get a new passport?

Mine's about to expire, and it has the wrong birthdate on it, so I'd like to just get a new one altogether.

EDIT: Looks like I print some forms and take them to one of these places

Get on line, download the application, then call the post office on West Ponce and make an appointment. They can take your picture there and if you need to have the passport expedited they can do that as well. Don't do a service. It is not worth it.

For my last renewal I just downloaded the forms, had my pictures taken at a CVS and was able to mail in everything.

I'm halfway through that process now.  I did the exact same thing.  My check to the Passport Processing Center in Philadelphia just cleared my bank account yesterday.

There's an office in downtown Atlanta now.

Do NOT mail the form in! Take it to the main post office near the airport, that's where they process the application and you get your passport in record time! We took this advice and got ours within 2 weeks.

Airport post office is the best, everything was done on site, no waiting, truely a great experience.

See, this is why I ask the Buzz these things. Google can tell me how to do stuff, but the Buzz is going to tell me a better way.

I haven't tried it personally, but my understanding it that the Passport office downtown (10th floor, corner of International and Peachtree) is same-day service.

My passport also arrived less than two weeks after mailing it in.

Used the downtown office to get pages added, and they had a 24 hour turn around.  It was awesomely easy.
