Pet Friendly Cabin Recommendations
« on: October 17, 2011, 12:10 pm »
With the weather getting cooler the old man and I have decided that it is perfect cabin time and we want to spend a long weekend up in the North Georgia mountains. Any buzzers have recommendations for a good pet friendly cabin rental company that isn't overly expensive? Not too picky about where in North Georgia we stay, would prefer to be up in the mountains and a hot tub would be nice, but not required.

Thanks duders.

Why are you calling Milo an old man?   ;)

I stayed in one of these cabins last year.  Totally pet friendly and well kept.

+1 for Sliding Rock.  They're about as pet friendly as you can find.  Some of them have fenced in yards now as well.

Another vote for Sliding Rock.  They were awesome and we really loved our time at one of their cabins!  Planning to go again as soon as we can:).

Milo will always be my old man, he is the true love of my life.

Thanks guys, I could not for the life of me remember the name of that company. I hate paying a cleaning fee. I am so damn OCD that I leave every place I visit spotless on departure. Oh well, maybe this will force me to relax since someone else will have to clean up after me.

The clean up fee kinda kills me too since I also can't help but tidy up.  The cabins really are nice and tidy and well-stocked when you arrive though.

We usually use vrbo and look for a pet-friendly house with a fenced yard.
This one has 3.5 acres fenced AND a hot tub!

We also stayed at a Sliding Rock cabin. I think most of them have hot tubs.
There is a very strict procedure about picking up and dropping off the key and you don't actually see a human. They also have a page of sarcastic questions and answers on their website that is funny but makes them seem pretty snotty. http://www.slidingrockcabins.com/cabin-rental-FAQ.htm

I like this question on the FAQ:

Why are some of your cabins Adult Only?  Does that mean no kids or is okay if we bring ours? Or does that mean something kinky?
"We have some owners of cabins that have chosen to be adults only, meaning no kids allowed.  We do have cabins that allow kids so should not be a problem.  So please adults only at the cabins that are labeled adults only.   And no it does not mean anything kinky, geewiz!"

Hey with a hot tub you could make your own kinky times.

I LOL'd so much at the FAQs that I snorted. Looks like we will be giving Sliding Rock a try, especially given all the glowing Buzzer reviews and we all know I base all of my life decisions on what the Buzzers have to say.
